My name is Xutao Sun, and I am currently a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. My research focuses on vibration-based Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), with broader interests in mechanical and structural engineering, the finite element method (FEM), and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).

This website serves as a curated repository of ANSYS and SOLIDWORKS case studies that I have developed and collected throughout my academic and professional work. It also includes technical notes and practical insights that I have found valuable in simulation and analysis.

I have a particular interest in the flexibility and extensibility of ANSYS Mechanical APDL, and several case studies presented here are developed using APDL to demonstrate advanced modelling and customisation capabilities.
